TASC / High School Equivalency (formerly GED)

New York State has selected a new high school equivalency test called the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC™) to replace the General Educational Development (GED®) as the primary pathway to a New York State High School Equivalency Diploma effective January 2, 2014. The TASC assesses five subject areas including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies. The test has been nationally-normed and measures an individual’s level of achievement relative to that of graduating high school seniors and readiness for college and the workforce as outlined by the Common Core State Standards.
