Training participants will be informed on best practices for communicating with clients and the interdisciplinary team. They will learn conflict resolution skills in order to deal with difficult clients and challenging situations within a care team.

Cherie Hepp graduated from Niagara University in 1978 with a Baccalaureate in Nursing. Her career began as a staff nurse on a High Risk OB unit and led to a Nurse Manager role for over 20 years until she shifted her energies towards nurse recruitment and retention. She served on the SEIU HCAP board for several years and was devoted to educating staff to their highest potential. Cherie was an active hands-on member of the first Labor/Management Initiative (LMI) in Western New York – 1199 SEIU/Kaleida Health: Partnering for Exceptional Care. Since “retirement” in 2018, she has continued on her healthcare journey as a facilitator for the Ladders to Value – WIO grant, Recruiter for On-line RN to BSN program at D’Youville College in Buffalo NY and most recently returned to a supportive nursing role during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Michael Zinkievich is a CCEMT paramedic who has 20 years of healthcare experience. He has degrees in photography and biochemistry. Michael has worked in ambulances, emergency departments, and gastroenterology research.
