Palliative Care for CNA’s

The CNA training program in palliative care includes a seven hour classroom session and a thirty minute long observation-and-feedback bedside session. The curriculum is adapted from the framework recommended by the Hospice and Palliative Nursing Association to guide the training needed to obtain a Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Assistant (CHPNA) credential offered by the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center. This adaptation draws the specific topic areas from the eight domains of palliative care recognized by the National Consensus Project Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care.
