Bias, Culture, and Values in Healthcare
Culture can impact the way people interpret illness and interact with the medical system. This course includes definitions of culture, cultural competence, cultural awareness, and cultural sensitivity. Videos and activities are incorporated to help participants understand how personal bias and values affect patients healthcare experiences. Participants will also practice effective interviewing skills that help to better understand a patient’s culture.
